Below you see leading brands of copper drains after a couple years of use. Neither has any copper plating left. One is silver in color and the other is brass. Click on the images so you can see how ugly they look!  The two silver colored drains were produced by Mountain Plumbing Products.

Copper Plated drains will not likely keep the plating for more than a couple of years! Even though other manufacturers have a long warranty, they count on you not wanting to go through the hassle of returning the failed drain, getting a new one, returning the old one, waiting at home for the plumber, and dealing with the cost of a plumber. Think of what a chore that would be! The Vostra drain is the only one on the market made of pure copper with no plating to ever wear off! Our raw copper drain will naturally age with your sink, and our weathered (0xidized) drain will do the same.

Finally... A real copper drain! All of the drains and disposal flanges and stoppers on the market until now have been plated. The plating eventually wears off. These are the very first solid copper drains on the market with no plating.  If you are considering a copper sink, whether it is ours or someone else's, you should get this drain or disposal flange and strainer.
