Last Christmas, Melissa had a great idea for our
company lunch. We have had a 10 plus year tradition of going to Kobe for
a Christmas dinner. All employees and their spouses are invited. We
usually have quite a laugh all night long. Well, this past year we also
had a company lunch where we traded gifts and one other momentous new
tradition that I would like to share. It is something I think you all
would find touching to do at home this Christmas; the Gratitude Box.
Here is what Melissa did! First she had decorative boxes for each person (co-worker). The boxes were empty. Then, she passed around three pieces of card stock (times that by the amount of people). Each card began with a sentence to be filled out for each person. One card said "My three favorite things about you..." Another said " What I admire about you..." The last one was "A funny story involving you...? Well, we all started writing and it got very quiet. We wrote and wrote, then placed the cards in each persons box. Then we went around the room and each person read one from their gratitude box. |

Well, the results were nothing short of amazing.
First, I have to say that I am blessed to have the most wonderful and
caring co-workers anyone can hope for. We started reading and the
messages were so touching we all cried, then laughed at each other
crying. Here are some photos.

Speaking of Christmas, I just had to add this video!
My granddaughter, Alyssa, is always wanting to dress like a Princess.
One of the first presents she opened last Christmas was a gift from Lisa
and me (a Princess dress). Take a look at the reaction!
