I can generally "date" a home quite accurately if they use commodity products. The use of high quality products can save money over the long haul. Cheaper products generally have to be replaced due to wear, or simply dated fashion. A quality product will outlast any cheap product both in longevity of product and style.

(Click on the photo) This is a very popular Grohe faucet. It is not very old. As you can see, the rubber is torn where the diverter is. Does this photo help to illustrate why some faucets are more expensive than others? Folks, the replacement is not under warranty and you will pay a pretty penny for a replacement. In fact, by the time you pay for the faucet, the replacement head and the shipping, you would equal the price of most of our higher quality faucets that should last many more years without issue.
If I owned a faucet that did this after a couple of years, I would be very angry. Remember what our parents told us? Save up to buy a higher quality. If you buy low quality, you generally have to buy twice!

Recent email: Dino, I have a plumber in here trying to fix two Grohe faucets.  He says:  If I can't get the parts, how far do you want to take this?   I say:  well we need new faucets.  So I go on your website, and right there is a picture of the Grohe LadyLux with the broken diverter just as it is on my sink... and each faucet is leaking in the same place.  It's the factory connection from solid stainless to small stainless stub hoses.  Each one leaks a tear drop a minute or so, on the cold water line.  But after a day is over, there is small lake under the sink threatening the just finished basement!   YIKES.
