What you need to know about apron front farm sinks!
We have a huge selection of apron front farm sinks and no one beats our value and service!

All apron front farm sinks are not made alike! They come in all forms, such as copper, stainless steel, granite, fireclay and bronze. The most popular apron front sinks are made of copper - and ours are different from all others on the market. Read on and see why! We have selected the finest of all apron front farm sinks to offer you, with a guarantee you will be thrilled!

If you are looking at a sink with a center drain it will be obsolete before you even install it!

Copper apron front sinks should have rear corner drains. Why? Having a drain in the center of a sink is a complete waste of work area. Even a rear center drain will not allow the user to place large items inside the sink without covering the drain. Once you have used a properly designed sink with a rear corner drain, you will never go back to the old fashioned center or rear center drain. Call us and let us tell you more!  We have some copper apron front sinks on sale right now, hurry!

Why 8" deep? We have done extensive ergonomic research and have found that 8" deep is the most comfortable depth for an undermount sink considering a right rear drain. (Stupidly designed sinks with center drains require a deeper bowl) A right rear drain allows you to place just about anything flat down inside the sink without covering the drain. If you are working at the bottom of the sink (most of the time) you will find a shallower sink to be more comfortable. Also remember, an 8" deep sink becomes 9 1/4" deep when under mounted.

Things to consider: (ONLY If you are getting a sink with a rear corner drain)

Yes, a 9" deep is too deep!!! Most sinks are undermounted under granite, which effectively makes the sink 10 1/4" deep. That is just too deep if you are going to be working at the bottom of the sink. Think about this... the countertop (36" tall) is designed to be a comfortable work surface. Now subtract 10 1/4" from that comfortable height. You are effectively working at a 25 3/4" height. Take this test and then tell me if I am not correct. Make a work surface that is 25 3/4" tall. Get a paper and pen. Try writing a letter while standing and using the surface height you have just made. One more thing, make sure you are standing several inches back from your work surface (just like you would at a sink). Go ahead, write a long letter. I can assure you will have a back ache.

User Height: Did you know that there is an optimal sink depth proportionate to your height. Oh yes, your height does matter! Do you get tired while working at the sink? Or worse yet, get back aches like I used to? If so, your sink is not the right height. After 25 years in space planning and kitchen design, I have observed the following consistencies between user height and bowl depth.

User Height:

    Suggested maximum bowl depth

Under 5'

    7 1/2"

5’0" to 5’3"

    7 1/2" - 8"

5’4" to 5"5"

     8 - 8 1/2"

5’5" to 5’6"

     8"-9"

5’6" to 5’11"

     8 -9"

6’0"  to 6'2"

     7 1/2" - 8"

6'2" and taller

     7"

• These sinks are generally mounted under a countertop with a thickness of at least 3/4".

Stainless Steel apron front sinks should also have rear corner drains. We offer custom apron front stainless steel sinks in any size and shape as well as in a stainless, called Millennia, which helps to hide scratches and water spots. Don't be fooled by lesser expensive stainless steel apron front sinks, they are generally not user friendly! Consider how much you use your sink. The sink is the most used appliance in your kitchen. It is also a permanent investment. This is not a place to scrimp! Call our product specialists and find out why our stainless steel apron farm sinks are so different. 1-888-880-9469

Granite and stone apron front sinks can be beautiful additions to your home. Quality varies considerably, therefore we have selected products which we feel are the best of the best.

Fireclay apron front sinks are a bit more fragile than the above sinks, so please make sure you speak to one of our specialists before investing. A good quality fireclay sink is designed to have a long life of easy care, however, there are some fireclay sinks on the market of low quality that can be problematic. We have been offering fireclay sinks for well over 10 years. We have researched these products extensively and have selected the ones we feel will be of a quality we can stand behind.

Bronze apron front sinks are rare and beautiful - and quite heavy (make sure there is plenty of help around when you have to lift one!) Bronze sinks will require a bit of care to maintain the patina, but our long list of past customers tell us that it is work the effort. Bronze sinks certainly make a statement in the kitchen.
